Dribbling Two Basketballs
-Dribble a ball with each. This improves hand eye coordination and helps cut your ball handling time in half by using both hands at the same time.
-Simultaneous dribbling has you using both hands at the same speed and the ball is moving in the same direction.
-Machine Gun is dribbling has the balls going in alternating directions instead of in the same direction. One ball is going up while one ball is going down.
Double Arm Pendulum Dribble
-This is the same as the single arm pendulum dribble but now you are dribbling with a ball in each hand.
-Dribble both basketballs in the same direction.
-Then do the Double Arm Pendulum Dribble on the side going front to back.
One Basketball, One Tennis Ball
-If you do not have a partner, you could either practice dropping and catching the ball or the more advanced tossing it off a wall to yourself.
Between the Legs (on the move)
-On your final dribble drop your feet into a staggered stance with foot in front of the other.
-Bend your knees and drop your hips.
-Gather the ball by your hip.
-Drive the ball between your legs and explode out of the dribble.
Behind the Back (on the move)
-Flick your wrist back toward the middle of your body when dribbling to avoid sending the ball out of arm's reach.
Spin Dribble
-Bait the defender by selling a straight-line drive.
-One hard dribble before executing the spin to keep control during the spin.
-Use the foot opposite of the hand you are dribbling with as your pivot foot.
-Spin on the heel of your pivot foot.
-Keep the ball tight so as to not lose control but keep the ball away from the defender.
-Whip your head around quickly to complete the spin.
In-and-Out Dribble
-Step with the opposite foot than the hand you are dribbling with.
-Dribble the ball inward and then quickly back all with the same hand.
-Practicing the stationary Pendulum Dribble from the Group 4 page will help you with this move.
