V Cut
-You will use a pivot, change of direction, and change of speed to make a v-cut.
-A wing player walks or jogs their defender toward the basket or lane. Then pivots, changes direction back to where they started and changes speed to create space.
-Once the player catches the ball they then forward or reverse pivot to square up to the basket.
L Cut
-You will use a pivot, change of direction, and change of speed to make a v-cut.
-To make an L cut the offensive player walks or jogs their defender straight down, then changes speed to pop back up and then straight out at a 90-degree angle toward the sideline to catch the ball.
-If the offensive player cuts at less than a 90-degree angle the defensive player will be able to get in the line of the pass and steal the ball.
Post Cut
-This is also called a wing post up or a perimeter post up.
-The offensive player posts just like a player would at the block.
-The player uses their body to hold off the defender until they make contact with the ball.
