Floater
-Take off and land on either one foot (running floater) or two feet (jump stop floater) depending on your momentum and defensive pressure.
-Use one hand with an open palm, like you are giving a high-five to the air. Remove your guide hand early or late depending on your style. Let the ball roll softly off your fingertips.
-Shoot the ball high into the air so it clears outstretched arms and drops straight down.
Stretch Layup
-Position your inside foot back and keep your chest facing the baseline to shield the ball from trailing defenders.
-Raise your inside knee and shooting elbow straight up at the same time to maximize your vertical power and reach.
-Extend the ball outward, using the net or glass where defenders hesitate to foul or block safely.
Finishing Thru Contact
-Drive into the defender's chest or rib cage using a shoulder or forearm to disrupt their balance. Do not drop your shoulder or extend your off arm.
-Keep the basketball close to your outside shoulder or high up away from the defender's reach to prevent strips and blocks.
-Jump off two feet on a power layup or stop to create a wide, stable base that resists midair displacement.
-Flex your non-shooting arm as a shield between the ball and the defender's reaching hands.
-Combine an aggressive, physical lower-body approach with a soft, controlled touch off the backboard.
