Finishing-Group 5

Running Hook
-Keep your body at an angle and position your non-shooting shoulder toward the basket to shield the ball from the defender.
-Coordinate your movement like a standard finish, such as pairing your right hand with your left foot.
-Take your dribble and step into your motion, lifting your knee high on your shooting side as you elevate off one foot.
-Move your shooting arm in a half-circle, ear-to-ear motion, and roll the ball off your fingertips at the peak of the jump.
-Keep your guide hand on the ball for control through the majority of the motion, releasing just before the shot.

Double Clutch Layup
- Attack the basket and take off into the air, keeping your eyes on the rim.
-Lift the ball high on one side of the basket as if you are about to shoot right away. This tricks the shot-blocker into jumping early.
- As the defender goes up, dip or tuck the ball back down toward your body or move it to the opposite side while you hang in the air.
-Guide the ball under or around the rim to the other side and release it softly off the backboard.

How to Jump High Enough to Dunk
-Build raw leg power
-Train your body to explode upward quickly.
-Strengthen your lower legs for the final push off the ground.
-Take a long, low second-to-last step to convert your forward speed into upward force.
-Use an aggressive upward arm swing to add momentum to your jump.
