Perimeter Moves-Group 4

The Billups Move
-This move after Chauncey Billups and is often done in transition.
-Dribble down the middle of the floor. Stop and take two dribbles and two hops directly sideways toward the sideline but do not pick up your dribble.
-When landing on the second hop be in an athletic position, ready to either shoot or drive.
-Read the defense.
-If the defender is down in an athletic position rise up and shoot after the second hop/dribble.
-If the defender stands upright when you take your sideways dribbles, crossover and drive back to the lane after the second hop/dribble.

The UTEP 2 Step
-The UTEP 2 Step was made famous by Tim Hardaway because that is where he went to college.
-Drop into a wide, low stance with your knees bent to lower your center of gravity and protect the ball.
-Fire the ball rapidly between your legs. At the same time, sell a fake by dropping your shoulder, leaning your head and waist, and taking a sharp jab step in that same direction.
- The instant the defender shifts their weight or bites on the fake, snap the ball back across your body with a tight, low crossover in the opposite direction.
-Push off your plant foot and drive downhill past the frozen defender toward the basket.
