Rebounding-Group 3

Free-Throw Rebounding (Defensive Players)
-Box Out.
-Do not step to the basket step toward the offensive player next to you. Step on a 45-degree angle into the lane to cut off their path to the basket.
-The top players on the lane need to communicate so they know which of the two of them is supposed to box out the shooter. My general rule is that the player next to the bigger of the two offensive players double teams that player and the player next to the smaller player.

Free-Throw Rebounding (Offensive Players)
-Offensive players should not be passive. One thing they could is called "X-ing". When players X they first communicate and decide which one will go first. When the shot goes up both offensive players sprint to the opposite block, with the second player going behind the player that said they would go first.
-Another option is a swim move. The offensive player uses a windmill motion to get over the extended arm of the player trying to box them out.
-Another option is a quick spin to the baseline to avoid the boxing out player.
-The last option is to pull the chair. When a defensive player is leaning on you, quickly move out of the way and let their weight get them off balance and then get the rebound.
-All of these moves except for the X can and should be used during live play as well to secure offensive rebounds.
