Understanding Angles of the Rebound
-About 80% of the time, a missed shot from the wing or baseline bounces to the opposite side of the floor. Only 20% bounce straight back to the front of the rim.
-Shots taken above the free-throw line extend to a wider area. They bounce to the sides 60% of the time and hit the front of the rim 40% of the time.
-Most rebounds land on the opposite side of the court from where the shooter released the ball.
-Low-arc, flat shots strike the rim at a sharp angle. They create long rebounds that bounce far out from the basket.
-High-arc shots drop down steeply. They create short rebounds that stay close to the rim.

Designated Offensive Rebounding Areas
-Players located below the free-throw line extended crash the boards for the rebound, while players above it sprint back to protect against the fast break.
-The Triangle Rebounding Theory-Offense targets three primary zones where missed shots typically land: the weak side (opposite the shot), the strong side (same side as the shot), and long rebounds (beyond the free throw line).
-NBA players crashing from the perimeter use the restricted area/arc in the lane as a visual guide for finding deep inside position.
