Body Position of a screen
-Place your feet a little wider than shoulder-width apart to create a strong foundation.
-Keep your knees bent and maintain a low, athletic center of gravity.
-Cross your arms over your chest (for girls) or place your fists over your lower stomach (for boys).
-Stop completely and plant your feet before the defender makes contact; moving your feet results in an illegal moving screen foul.
The Angles of a Screen
-Position your body chest against the defender's shoulder to eliminate any gaps they can slip through.
-After your teammate uses the screen, pivot or "open up" toward the ball to remain an option for a pass or rebound.
Using a screen
-Use a sharp change of direction or fake cut to arrive in position before your defender notices.
-Run shoulder-to-shoulder past your teammate setting the screen so the defender cannot squeeze through the gap.
