Screening-Group 3

Drag Screen

-A drag is set in semi-transition by a trailer for the ballhandler to dribble to the middle of the court.

Double Screen

-Two players come together shoulder-to-shoulder at the block to set a double screen for the shooter to cut to the perimeter for a shot.

Dribble Hand Off

-The ball handler dribbles at a teammate. When the teammate passes by the ball handler, he picks up his dribble and hands it to his teammate.

Flat Screen

-A flat screen involves a player setting a screen for the player with the basketball while their back is facing towards the basket. This can be a very difficult screen for the on-ball defender to avoid, especially if the ball-handler is moving quickly and looking to attack the rim.

Post Down Screen

-The high post sets a screen for the weak-side low post player to cut to the elbow. The screener shapes up in the lane and looks for the ball.

Rescreen

-After 5 sets a ball screen for 1, both players turn around, and then 5 sets another ball screen, but in the opposite direction (often done when the on-ball defender goes under the screen).

Step Up Screen

-A player moves from near the baseline up the floor to set a screen.
