Shooting-Group 3

Free Throws
-Use proper shooting form during your free throws.
-Develop a routine before the shot. A certain number of dribbles or movement with the ball.
-Use the same routine every time.

Shooting Off a Pass
-Give your teammate an easy target by holding your hands up and out, ready for the pass.
-Move toward the pass instead of waiting flat-footed for it to reach you.
-Bend your knees and drop your hips before the catch to load power into your legs.

Shooting Off the Dribble
-Keep your feet under your hips with a wide, neutral base when you stop or plant. Stay low in an athletic stance to maintain control.
-As the ball descends on your final dribble, place your hand underneath or to the side of the ball to gather it. Dip the ball slightly as your knees bend to mimic the power rhythm of a catch-and-shoot.
-Plant cleanly into a 1-2 stop or a jump stop, ensuring your momentum moves straight up and down rather than drifting backward or sideways.
-Locate the target early during your gather so your upper body aligns naturally with the basket.
