Training- Shooting

 Shooting

BEEF-Balance, Elbow, Eyes, Follow Through

Shooting Pocket

Toes & Shoulders Pointed at the Rim

Ball on the fingertips space in between the ball and your palm

Shooting Hand on the center of the ball not the side

Guide Hand keeps the ball in place it is not involved in the shot, it comes off the ball before the release

Guide hand on the side-not in front of top

Eyes on the target pick what a spot on the rim and aim for

Put a Wrinkle in Wrist

Elbow stays in and under the ball which keeps the hand pointed at the target

The picture below demonstrates what not to do

Look at the shooting hand placement.  It is not aimed at the target.

On the way from the pocket to the release-no stiff arm shots, triceps parallel, elbow 90 degrees, snap forward

Jump straight up, not forward

Hand Placement Two Finger Split Release- Thumb, Ring, & Pinky are the rails keeping the ball in place for 2 finger release

Those three fingers are not involved in the shot or you will get a curveball

The Release is above the head

Eyes below the ball when shooting-this prevents shooting from the hip or chest

The elbow should finish higher than the eyes-if not it is a line drive

Finish with a snap of the wrist and create the goose neck
